Administrative Ministries

 

 

Keeping the day-to-day operations of St John's running smoothly is a collaborate effort between the Parish Administrator, the Clergy, and the many ministry teams.  The administrative ministries play a vital role in the operations and are those that usually function behind the scenes, while also offering a hands-on opportunity to serve. 

 

 

Stewardship 

We cannot do God's mission in the world without the pledges of time, talent and treasure that enables us to keep doing the Programs, Projects and Outreach that is our tradition.  This vital ministry works year round to ensure that stewardship remains a deeply spiritual matter, a choice that blesses the giver more than the receiver.

 

Counters

When St John's receives the pledges and offerings during the weekly services, there's more going on afterwards behind the scenes.  Each Sunday, a team of volunteers physically count and log the money, and bring it to the bank.   Each team is scheduled to work one Sunday every 4 to 6 weeks.

 

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee works with the vestry leadership team and the treasurer to manage and track our budget and finances.  Before developing a budget each year, the church finance committee works with each of the church committees and groups to submit requests for funds for the year.  

Throughout the year, the church finance committee oversees the budget, keeping the finances in line and the budget balanced.

 

Church Audit Committee

The annual church audit is performed by a the audit committee shortly after the close of the annual financial statements.  The audit is performed under the guidelines of the internal audit procedures outlined under the Episcopal Canon 17 to verify the cash reciepts and disbursements.

 

Holy Folders

This small ministry is a group of dedicated volunteers who assist the Parish Administrator by folding the weekly service bulletins and occassional church mailings.
